Supply of healthy seed may be an effective means of improving sugarcane production. In sugarcane, the cultivators usually raise their own crop for seed material but the Government and sugarcane factories have also initiated to supply good seed material through recognized agencies. To maintain the quality seed material, cultivators should replace their seed at least once in 5 years.
