Therapeutic studies of induced dietary diarrhoea in kids

Diarrhoea of nutritional origin has become one of the most important problems where large number of calves or kids are raised under intensive conditions. Consequent to the relatively high cost of good quality milk replacer, large quantities of both non-milk protein and carbohydrates are used in formulating milk replacers. In calves or kids fed inferior quality milk replacers, there will be a chronic diarrhiea of foul smell with pot bellied condition due to distension of gut and abomasum. Although numerous data on treatment of diarrhoea are available, there are only few reports available on the treatment of induced dietary diarrhoea in kids. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of certain drugs in the treatment of induced dietary in kids.
