A New Laarge Seed and High Oil Content Perilla Cultivar "Daeyou"

"Daeyou" was developed at the National Crop Experiment Station, RDA in 2001 through the crossing lines of high oil content Yeupsildlkkae and Heukim's hybrid line and it was combined by Pakesa and low seedcoat ratio variety Suwon 8 in 1991. Daeyou has grey-white seedcoat color with large size and thinner than check variety Saeyeupsildlkkae. Oil content and extracted oil quantity of Daeyou was higher than the check variety, thus it's good for edible oil and condiments. Grain of Daeyou outyielded by 9% compared to that of the check variety with 1.27 MT/ ha in advanced yield trial (AYT), BY 5% WITH 1.13 MT/ha in regional yield trial (RYT).
