[Ploughless and no-tillage and plant residue impact on weed in continuous barley]

The influence of direct drilling, tillage and plant residue (straw and catch crops) on barley weed ness and weed seed-bank was investigated in two backgrounds (straw removed or chopped and spread) in 2000-2002. It was determined, that straw incorporation had not significant influence on the number of weed tillers. The influence of tillage systems was significant in all experimental years. There was no significant increase of weed tillers in shallow autumn ploughing and shallow autumn loosening compared to deep ploughing, but the number of weeds in shallow spring rotavation was significantly - 2.3-10.3 times higher. Different tillage systems had no effect on weed seed bank. Straw incorporation decreased the number of weed seeds significantly - 63.
