The research was focused on the chemical composition of the winter rape 'Kasimir F1' autumn rosette in the crops of different density and its influence on plant wintering. It was established that the average duration of winter rape vegetation in autumn was 95.7 days. In this period rape accumulated 24.7 of dry matter in rosette leaves as well as 29.7 of dry mater in the crown bud. At the increasing rape crop density the content of dry matters, raw proteins and sulphur in rape increased, while the content of total sugar, raw fats, potassium and phosphorus decreased. Rape wintering inversely depended on rape crop density: the higher rape crop density the worse the wintering was.
