Observation nursery, Initial evaluation trial, Coordinated varietal trials ICSN-DM, ICSN-DL and coordinated farmers field trials were conducted at different locations during 2000/01 and 2001/02 to select the high yielding disease resistant genotypes for recommendation. In observation nursery, genotypes ICCV-97109 and ICCV-90108 produced higher grain yield during 2000/01 and ICCV-00109 produced higher grain yield during 2001/02. During 2000/01 grain yield of IET over location revealed that genotype ICCV-95118 produced significantly higher grain yield than Dhanush while at Nepalgunj genotype Pant G-114 produced significantly higher grain yield than Dhanush. Combined analysis of CVT over the location showed that genotype ICCX-840508-36 and ICCL-87312 produced significantly higher yield than Dhanush in 2000/01 while during 2001/02 genotypes KWR-108, ICCX-840508-36, BG-1206 produced significantly higher grain yield than Dhanush. The genotype ICCX-840508-36 was found tolerant to wilt and BGM. In Farmers field trial genotype ICCX-840508-36 yielded significantly higher than Dhanush during 2000/01. These data revealed that genotype ICCX-840508-36 is candidates for release.
