Comparison of farms with a different kind of production in the context of sustainable development

The attempt to evaluate the level of sustainability of agricultural production in 15 farms undertaken in the paper during 1999-01. The following indicators were used: soil nutrient (NPK), soil organic matter balance, index of soil cover by crops during winter, agricultural income and economic efficiency. The results of researches confirmed opinion that economic, organizational and natural conditions influence economic efficiency. The chosen indicators are very useful for assessment of the degree of sustainability of farms
