Year-to-year stability of aggregations of Viviparus viviparus (Linnaeus 1758) in littorial zone of lowland rheophilic reservoir (Central Poland)

Studies on molluscs of the littoral zone of the Zegrzynski Reservoir and lower sections of rivers supplying it and in the lower Narew River were conducted in 1990-94. Research stations were in three types of habitats: river, mouth sections of rivers and the reservoir. The densities of snails in summer reached up to 500 individuals per square m in the reservoir, exceeded 500 ind. in the river outfalls, and 800 ind. per square m in the lower Narew River.
