The observation of several water ponds were carried out by the end of the dry season and by the end of the rain one, in order to look for snails intermediate host of cattle trematodes at the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. The specimens collected were classified as Bellamya unicolor, Lanistes ovum, Cleopatra sp., Lymnaea natalensis, Anisus sp., Biomphalaria pfeifferi, Bulinus globosus, B. truncatus, B. forskalii e B. senegalensis. Only the snails identified as Bulinus and Lymnaea are able to maintain the life cycle of the trematode already refered (Fasciola gigantica, Paranphistomas and Schistosoma bovis), although the emission of a xifidiocercariae type were observed from a Bulinus forskalii naturally infected. B. truncatus and B. forskalii showed a good compatibility relationship to the S. bovis strain from Cape Verde, so that they could exhibit an important role on this schistosome epidemiology at Guinea-Bissau
