A small collection of thysanurans of the orders Microcoryphia and Zygentoma deposited in the arachnoentomological collection of the Centro de Zoologia of the IICT is studied. A few faunistic novelties at insular level are reported to the Cape Verde islands and a new species of Grassiella is described from the Brazilian Amazonia
