The aim of this study was to know the effect of the application of the AN905 (very weak anionic) and FO4550SH (strong cationic) polymers on the water infiltration and soil loss, against the control (soil without treatment), through artificial rain (21,6 mm/h) with a Morin et al. (1967) rain simulator over sieved soil (Px). The AN905 and FO4550SH polymers showed to be efficient on infiltration as compared with the control, with 460% and 609% increases on water infiltration in the soil, for the experiments with a 2 weeks interval between the sets of rain, and 129% and 75% for the two experiments with a 4 weeks interval between the sets of rain. The use of the polymers (AN905 and FO4550SH) also showed a decrease of soil loss, against the control, of 9% and 58% in the experiments with a 2 weeks interval between the sets of rain and of 26% and 19% in the two experiments with a 4 weeks interval between the sets of rain
