Comparision of 5 different growing medium for Curcuma sparganifolia showed that medium consisting of coir and rice husk at 1:1 together with the use of liquid fertilizer induce quicker corm germination and had good growth rate. This planting medium also gave rise to the plants with the earliest blooming date and maximum flower number compare with the other tested medium i.e.clay, sandy loam, soil mix with peanut husk at 1:1 and the last one, sand and coir, at 1:1. Apart from those studied parameters, coir mix with rice husk also producing the plants with maximum number of new corms and needed lesser time to remove the medium from the corms.
