Total of 140 naturally infected young cattle aged between 5 and 15 months were randomly selected and treated with praziquantel, albendazole and triclabendazole at different dose rates and by different methods of administration. The best result in reducing number of S. spindale eggs was observed after the administration of praziquantel at the dose of 15 mg/kg body weight orally or 25 mg/kg body weight intramuscularly. Albendazole and triclabendazole had no effect on the parasites. The weight gain was also observed and the best average weight gain at 60 days after treatment with praziquantel orally at a dose of 20 mg/kg body weight was demonstrated.
