The influences of four chemical compounds of fire retardants (Compound 1:55 percent sodium phosphate Na2HPO412H20) + 10 percent Ammonia phosphate (NH4)2HPO4); Compound 2: (Boric acid H3BO3 50 percent and Ammonium borates Na2B407.10H20); Compound 3: (Phosphoric acid H3PO4 : Urea (NH2)2CO = 1:1.5 according to mol ratios); Compound 4 (Ammonia phosphate (NH4)2HPO4 10 percent, Ammonium sulphate (NH4)2S04 60 percent, Ammonium borates Na2B407.10H20 10 percent), Boric acid H3BO3 10 percent\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\} on the curing process of urea -formaldehyde adhesive (U-F) were studied by scanning analysis. The results indicated that: (1) Compound 2 and compound 3 could be incorporated in a U-F resin to formulate a fire retardant adhesive system; (2) The most harmful on the curing process of U-F resin adhesive and mechanical, phycical proferties of the board mixture of (NH4)2HPO4 10 percent, (NH4)2S04 60 percent Na2B407.10H20 10 percent, H3BO3 10 percent.
