Effectiveness of neem extract on beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Hubner) was investigated at the laboratory of the Oil Seed Crops and Grain Legumes Entomology Group. The results showed that the neem extract was effective in controlling the beet armyworm and exhibiting the mechanism of control as insecticide, repellent and antifeedant. For insecticidal test, the neem extract at the concentration of 6.25 ppm could completely control 2nd-3nd instar larvae of beet armyworm in 7 days. For the repellent, 100 ppm of the neem extract could repel 57.50 percent of 2nd-3rd instar larvae with in 15 minutes. For antifeedant test, the feeding of beet armyworm was decreased when the host plants were treated with 12.50 ppm of neem extract. The efficacy of neem extract was depended on the concentration of azadirachtin and the exposing period of the infestation.
