Adult moths of the teak beehole borer, Xyleutes ceramicus, emerged in the afternoon, particularly two to three hours before dark. The moth started emerging on 24 February and ended on 23 March with the peak on 8 March 1989. The largest number of moths was trapped with the black light, followed by the blue light which attracted 60 moths. But, the white fluorescent light trap attracted only three moths and the white bulb trap did not attract any moth. Marked males were released into the field and trapped with the light to estimate the flying distance. A male flew at least 90 m from the released site. Four marked males survived more than one days.
