Study on Bangkok canal water quality was undertaken. The water from canals during July 1990-May 1991 in various sections of Bangkok Metropolis (B.M) was used. Comparing the data on quality collected in July 1990-May 1991 to those collceted in July 1985-May 1986, the couclusion could be made as follows: for the quantity of dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, suspensed solid and ammonium compound the quality of water in the canals in various sections of B.M. in July 1990-May 1991 was inferior to that in July 1985-May 1986. This should be caused by the growth of population. And a relationship among parameters of water quantity with a great value could be substituted. The reason was explained by time and energy saving. The data on dissolved oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, ammonium compound and hydrogen sulphide demand. Another parameters were hydrogen sulphide that could indicate chemical oxygen demand and ammonium compound demand.
