Influence of crop density on brussels sprouts yield

In four years trial there were investigated influence of different spacing on yield and quality of Brussels sprouts. There were four different spacing: 2,400, 3,000, 3,600 and 4,200 square cm/plant. Variety Titurel in Vojvodina (Serbia and Montenegro) circumstances demand spacing of 24,000 - 25,000 plants/ha or distance between rows 70 cm and in rows 60 cm. Average obtained yield was 14.2 t/ha (22.3% more than control). Besides of spacings yield is depending also of climate conditions. Spacing has influence on sprouts mass. The biggest sprouts mass was obtained at spacing of 70 x 60 cm. Dry matter content was not changed, at different spacing of Brussels sprouts.
