Behaviour of parasitoid Trichogrammatidae (Hymenoptera) as biological agent of pest

Biological control using egg of parasitoid of Trichogrammatidae is potential agent to control several insect pests. The parasitization activity of Trichogrammatidae in the light condition is high, but low in the dark. The parasitization decrease in the older host egg. Spreading ability of Trichogrammatidae is up to 50 m, but the effective distance are 5-10 m. Trichogrammatidae is polyphage, and the host is the egg of Lepidoptera, such as Chilosuppressalis Wlk., Chrysodeixis chalsites Esper., Etiella spp., Chilotraea infuscatella Sn., Spodoptera litura L., and Helicoverpa spp. Insecticide is dangerous to the Trichogrammatidae at the adult and pupa stages. Trichogrammatidae is easily reared in the alternative host of Corcyra cephalonica eggs

Parasitoid Trichogrammatidae mudah dibiakkan pada inang pengganti Corcyra spp.
