Study was conducted at sub upper catchments area of Mahat River, which consists of sub-sub catchments areas namely Pinawan, Air Dingin, Payan and Mahat, from January to June 2002 with survey method and collection primary and secondary data. Data consists of spatial and non spatial. Statistical analysis by using regression model was applied, where dependent variable was river flow rate (Y), river characteristic and land slope class was independent, variable (X). Research result showed that river flow rate at each sub-sub catchment area was Pinawan (5.183 meter cubic/sec), Air Dingin (6.402 meter cubic/sec), Payan (3.598 meter cubic/sec) and Mahat Hulu (24.152 meter cubic/sec). For river characteristic that was river density (X1), bifurcation index (X2) and form coefficient (X3) with model Y = 1.496 - 2.835 log X1 + 4.957 log X2 - 0,635 log X3 with R at the power of two = 0.9237 and for land slope class 8-15 percent (X8) and land slope class more than 45 percent (X11), with model Y = 5.542 - 0.499 log X8 - 2.474 log X11 with R at the power of two = 0.9013
