Effect the thickness of plastic packaging and temperature on chillies freshness during storage

Английский. The long chilly (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the important vegetable. The chillies are rich of vitamin C, vitamin A, and mineral. The chillies are perishable product and therefore the post harvest treatment should be done properly in order to maintain the freshness. The objective of the research was to evaluate the thickness of plastic packaging and temperatures on the perforated plastic bag at various thickness such as 0.4 mm and 0.7 mm. The prepared packed were kept in the compartment at various temperature such as 4 deg. C, 10 deg. C, 15 deg. C and in the room temperature as control (27 deg. C 2 deg.C). Each treatment consisted of 2 replications. The packed were sampled every 3 days. The parameters observation were the colour changing, fresh weight, firmness, moisture content and vitamin C property. The experiment was designed due to completely Randomized Design with 3 factorials. The first factor was the thickness of plastic bags, second factor was the temperature and the third was the period of storage. The result indicated that the best treatment for keeping the freshness of chillies was in the plastic packed at 0.4 mm and in the compartment at 15 deg. C. The freshness of chillies could kept until 15 days

индонезийский. Cabe merah (Capsicum annuum L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman sayuran yang penting karena kaya akan vitamin C, vitamin A dan mineral. Cabe merupakan komoditas yang mudah rusak oleh karena itu memerlukan perlakuan pasca panen tertentu untuk memelihara kesegarannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketebalan kemasan plastik dan suhu ruang simpan pada berbagai ketebalan kemasan plastik, yaitu 0.4 mm dan 0.7 mm. Ruang simpan ditetapkan pada berbagai suhu, yaitu 4 derajat C, 10 derajat C, 15 derajat C dan pada suhu kamar sebagai kontrol (27 derajat C 2 derajat C). Setiap perlakuan memiliki 2 ulangan. Kemasan diamati setiap 3 hari. Parameter yang diamati adalah perubahan warna, bobot buah segar, kadar air dan kadar vitamin C. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 3 faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah ketebalan kemasan plastik, faktor kedua adalah suhu dan faktor ketiga adalah lama penyimpanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan terbaik untuk memelihara kesegaran buah cabe adalah pada plastik dengan ketebalan 0.4 mm pada suhu ruang simpan 15 derajat C. Kesegaran cabe dapat dipelihara sampai 15 hari
