Quantiative analysis of the support system for dairy farming and future subjects: Focusing on the conditions of private supporting institute

The purpose of this study is to examine what is expected by dairy farmers of the dairy support system and the future development of this support system. To develop dairy farming, the supporting organization and service system is essential. Recently, the content of this service has become diversified, such as labor support, supply of intelligence for decisionmaking in management, etc. We would like to emphasize private institutes have remarkably developed as the provider of these services. In this study the main point falls on possible development of private supporting institutes for dairy farming. We asked farmers about their perception of supporting organization using a questionnaire, studied feed supply service, livestock clinic service and, management support service, individually. Based on our analysis, dairy farmers have been found to expect mainly abundant supply of intelligence from the supporting organization, and that private institutes provide highly value-added service.
