Notes on some Noctuid species intercepted on asparagus [Asparagus officinalis] produced in America and Mexico at import plant quarantine of Narita Airport in Japan

Some Noctuid eggs and larvae were intercepted on asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) produced in America and Mexico at Narita Airport in Japan. They were reared to adult in the laboratory for identification. As the result, 5 Noctuid species, Helicoverpa zea, Spodoptera frugiperda, S. exigua, S. praefica and S. ornithogalli were identified (4 of them are not known to occur in Japan). Characters of eggs and immature larvae are reported as pictures took by digital-microscope.
