This article is about Leucaena psyllid which is a sapsucking pest of Leucaena spp. (Leguminosae: Mimosoideae), among which L. leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit is one of the most susceptible. The insects attack new shoots, causing juvenile foliage to wilt and die back. This first report of leucaena psyllid in Kenya came from the Indian Ocean coast in mid-1992. In this paper, results are presented of a psyllid population monitoring and parasitoid release programme. Research was conducted both on station and on farms in Embu and Kilifi districts in Kenya. results showed that psyllid populations responded directly to their hosts` condition that in turn was influenced by changing weather patterns.
