Susceptibility of citrus cultivars to Phaeoramularia fruit and leaf spot disease in Kenya.

This article is about the fourteen citrus cultivars which were screened for susceptibility to Phaeoramularia angolensis at the Government prison orchard, Kitale, Trans-Nzoia district for two consecutive cropping seasons. Variables used for assessment of disease response included number and diameter of lesions, incidence and severity on fruit and leaves. All the cultivars were affected by the disease, and their susceptibility varied between species and within a species. Marsh seedless grapefruit was most sisceptible and Tahiti lime least. On the basis of the findings of this study the incidence on fruit and leaves would provide an adequate measure for screening work.
