This book contains the Proceedings of the International Bamboo Workshop, held in Cochin, India in November 1988. The Workshop gave an opportunity for specialists in different aspects of bamboo to come together, discuss various problems under the same roof, evaluate the present state of knowledge on this very important resource and suggest measures for its effective propagation, scientific conservation, proper utilization and management.
