This is part of a complex investigation when the intragastric pH dynamics in different parts of the stomach and morfofunctional condition of the liver were studied simultaneously in animals in postnatal ontogenesis in connection with their age and feeding. The main task blood biochemical changes, if any, in calves from 9 to 21 weeks of age when fed with milk substitute and other feedstuffs appropriate to the age as wells in animals fed only with the rough forage and concentrated mixed feed. Ten animals were used for the experiment. The blood was sampled at 6 a.m. before feeding. It was stated that the dynamics of the blood biochemical indices in 10-21 weeks old calves were connected both with the changes of animals typical for the certain age and the feed. When feeding calves with milk substitute till the age of 21 weeks, the significantly higher but the level of urea and the total protein was significantly lower. In 12-21 weeks old calves, when their feeding with milk substitute was stopped and they were fed like ruminants, the level of glucose and creatinine significantly lowered, and the concentration of urea and calcium increased.
