Yield and yield components of wheat under inorganic nitrogen levels andtheir application method

A field experiment was conducted to assess the suitable nitrogen (N) levelsand placements for the yield and yield traits of wheat. Three N levels (80, 120and 150 kg ha-1) were incorporated through broadcast, banding, pop-up andfoliar. The results showed that banding of 120 kg N ha-1 significantly producedlengthy spices, more grain number per spike, better seed index and maximumgrain yield per hectare followed by broadcast, foliar and pop-up N placements. Itis concluded that banding of 120 kg N ha-1 was better way to apply N fertilizersthat resulted in greater wheat yield and yield components.
