Risk and uncertainty (variability) in wheat production in Turkey

The reasons for variability and the difference between risk anduncertainty were explained in the study. The level of uncertainty in yield,price and gross income was analyzed for wheat via using coefficient ofvariation and coefficient of random variation. Results show that farmers arefaced uncertainty in agricultural production due to some factors (climate, pricepolicy changes, etc), which are not under the control of producers.Agricultural insurance, product diversification, contract farming and futuremarkets can be solutions to reduce risk possibility and variability in Turkishagriculture.
