Water plays a vital role in human life as it is used in almostevery step. As concern to create opportunities to develop aestheticsenses in human it is necessary to construct some recreational lakeswhich can be used for many purposes like storage of water,culturing of ornamental and edible fishes, ornamental aquatic plants,provide habitat for aquatic birds and much more. For the long termexistence of these artificial water reservoirs it is necessary toconduct an ecological survey including the physico-chemical featuresof water and assessment of biological communities along with theirrate of abundance. The present study, was aimed to find out theimpacts of human on water quality as well as on fauna and flora of arecreational lake located in Quaid-i-Azam park Karachi.
