Use of pine bark and polypropylene fabric for young peach trees mulching. Pt. 1. The influence of mulching in tree rows on yielding and growth in peach tree
2001
Szewczuk, A.
The influence of mulching in tree rows on yielding and growth of peach trees was estimated in Fruit Experimantal Station belonging to Agricultural University of Wroclaw in 1996-00. Peaches of Inka and Suncrist cultivars on rootstock Manchurian peach were planted in density 694 trees per ha. The experiment was carried out in randomized block design with 6 replications at 3 trees on each plot. Soil mulching with pine bark or polypropylene fabric positively influenced the yield of peaches fruit, which increased by 12-36 percent in comparison to the control treatment. There was no effect of mulching in tree rows on fruit size. Mulching with pine bark or polypropylene fabric created better conditions for vegetative growth of peach trees
