Evaluation of behavioural reaction stereotypes of service dogs during qualification and training

The studies included 12 dogs of German Shepherd breed, put to training in the Training Service Dog Centre. Initial evaluation of behavioural reaction stereotypes of dogs was performed and subsequently their behaviour and progress during the training were estimated. During initial evaluation of dog qualification for training, the original methods of scoring their behaviour during the gunshot, aggression and retrieval tests were suggested. The individuals of different types of behaviour were selected in the examined group. This significantly influenced their work predisposition. Usefulness of the suggested score system for initial evaluation of dogs qualified for training was obtained. Significant relations between some psyche features influencing high values of the examined dogs as useful animals were found
