Importance of the genus Orius (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) in the biological control of Thripidae in organic grapevine particularly in Apulia region (Italy) and Tunisia

In the current work, a field survey in thirty-two localities in Apulia region and twenty localities in Tunisia was done in order to identify the different species of the genus Orius (Wolff), their presence during the period of the study. In addition to this, we identified the different Thysanoptera species found in table vineyards in Apulia and studied their impact on this agro-ecosystem. F. occidentalis (Pergande) deserved our attention, along with its most important host plants. In Apulia, six Orius spp. were found, four of them common to Tunisia where we reported nine species. In both countries, O. laevigatus (Fieber) was the most abundant, although in Tunisia O. albidipennis (Reuter) was the most distributed. For the most abundant Orius spp. found, with several generations from the winter till the summer, Chrysanthemum coronarium has been the most important herbaceous host plant in both countries especially during the springtime. In Apulia table vine-growing agro-ecosystem, seven Thysanoptera species were found.

Au cours du présent travail, un suivi a été dans trente-deux localités de la région des Pouilles et vingt localités de la Tunisie afin de détecter les différentes espéces du genre Orius, de déterminer leur abondance ainsi que leur présence. Nous avons identifié les différentes espéces de l'ordre des Thysanoptera trouvées dans les vignobles de table en Pouilles et déterminé leur abondance. En Pouilles six espéces d'Orius ont été identifiées dont quatre présentes également en Tunisie oé neuf espéces ont été trouvées. Dans les deux pays l'espéce la plus abondante a été O. laevigatus (Fieber) bien qu'en Tunisie O. albidipennis (Reuter) s'est montré le plus distribué géographiquement. Pour les espéces d' Orius les plus abondantes, Chrysanthemum coronarium s'est avéré la plante héte la plus importante. En Pouilles, sept espéces de l'ordre des Thysanoptera ont été identifiées parmi lesquelles F.occidentalis (Pergande) qui est en troisiéme position en termes d'abondance et Diplotaxis erucoides étant la plus importante plante héte.
