Efecto de la aplicación de cal y la época de cosecha en la producción de semilla de Arachis pintoi CIAT 18744

The effect of applying lime (0-3,000 kg/ha) and different harvest times (3, 15, and 17 months after planting) on plant characteristics and DM and seed production of Arachis pintoi CIA T 18744 was studied in an Orthic Acrisol at the Papaloapan experiment field (climate Aw0' 25.7 øC, and 1000 mm rainfall), located in Isla (Veracruz, Mexico). Lime was applied at 500-kg increases. A randomized block design, arranged in split plots, was used, with doses of lime as main plots and harvest age as subplots.Results showed that the application of lime did not affect plant height, plant cover, or forage or seed production. However, age at harvest affected pod seed yield, being higher (1,534 kg/ha) at 13 months after planting than at 15 months (1,213 kg/ha) or17 months (703 kg/ha)
