The coefficients of linear extensibility for ninety-nine soil samples, collected from fifteen Gezira Vertisols series, were measured using the standard clod method (COLEst) and a rod method (COLErd). McNeal's demixed-ion model was used for the prediction of interlayer swelling (IS) of these soils.
