Study was to investigate growth response of 8 spinach cultivars consisting of 2 groups (European type: Believe, Bejo 1839, Combat, Space F1, Spanda F1 and Sporter, Asian type: F1 No 09, San Giusto SG 6137) under evaporative cooling system greenhouse. The experiment was carried out during January to February 2001 in the experimental field at Department of Horticulture Kasetsart University, Kamphaengsaen campus, Nakhon pathom. The results indicated that F1 No. 09 which was Asian type had the greatest yield before and after dressing at 1,309.6 and 963.7 kg/rai, respectively. An average weight per plant was 54.15 g and petiole length was 14.68 cm. these were the highest. Believe which was European type had the least growth and the highest number of leaves per plant. Combat another European type, had the greatest stem length. It was observed that spinach of all cultivars planted near the cooling pad had better growth than those planted farther away. This was probably due to difference in humidity and temperature.
