Study on Soil Characters and Fertilizer Usage for Corn in Phitsanulok Province, Field Method used to collection emphasized soil series for corn growing by physical and chemical properties analysis in laboratory for 64 soil samples, besides that interviewed to concern processes of corn growing 75 formers from 9 districts. The results that, most of soil samples for corn growing were sandy loam or silt loam. Soil reaction is extremly acid to mildly alkaline (mean of OM=1.38 percent; range of CEC=1.78-29.21 me/100 g), base saturation is medium value (range of BS=25.29-93.34 percent). Macronutrients (N P K Ca Mg S) and some micronutrients (Zn Cu) are found that low value, except Fe and Mn is high value, The general concept of soil characters for corn growing in Phitsanulok is medium soil fertility. Almost of corn growers used chemical fertilizer (15-15-15 or 16-20-0 formula) inlow ratio (approximate 10-30 kg/rai). In soil management used to some prevent of the pest attact and weed control. The general production depends on rainfed. The right method of soil improvement is adding organic matter and hight ratio for chemical fertilizer (30-50 kg/rai). And added organic fertilizer. Too. Some areas are acid soil (pH5.5) should be lime to added in soil before fertilizer. (approximate 200-1,000 CaCO3 kg/rai). In agricultural system should be changing to integrated farming and use to high corn yield of seeds. The land use to corn growing after rice to find water resources and many reservoirs can help to increase yield and improve the farmers income and increasing national product too.
