Studies on sun-dry of high moisture maize were carried out in the laboratory and the middleman scale in 1990 and 1991. In the case of fine weather condition, drying will finish in one or two days. It seems strong sunlight may cause a little decomposition of aflatoxin during sun-dry. As aflatoxin content at the initial stages is very important, it needs to pay attention to keeping time of shelled maize before drying for storing of fresh maize. It is very difficult to eliminate or reduce aflatoxin in maize once highly contaminated before drying. Aspergillus flavus infection and aflatoxin contamination will not much increase in well dried maize for 3 months storage.
