Moisture content determination is very important in post-harvest procedure, and also in determination of products' price. There are many types of moisture meter used in Thailand. However there is no report on their performance for Thai maize. Most of moisture meter adopted indirect method. Capacitance or electric resistance is measured to determine moisture content. Correspondence between these electric properties and moisture content might be different under different shape, size or ingredient of maize kernels. Several types of moisture meter used in Thailand were examined and calibration lines were obtained. Some tested models were rejected in the first stage of our research and four models remained. Above four models consist of one resistance meter and three capacitance meters. Resistance meter showed linearity to the oven determined values, while all three capacitance meters requested different regression lines for two moisture content ranges. Among these capacitance meter, simple meter developed in Thailand has largest deviation of determined values. However, this meter showed best linearity to oven method determination and smallest deviation from it for Thai maize. Only 1 set for one type of moisture meter were tried, so this result cannot represent each model.
