The combining ability of 6 intogressive lines (G. hirsutum L.xG. barbadense L.) used as female components and 40 Bulgarian and foreign cultivars used as male components was tested in a system of netlike test crossings during two years.The hybrids obtained were tested for seed cotton weight and number of mature bolls per plant and boll weight. Both additive and non-additive gene effects were of importance in inheritance of seed cotton weight and number of ripe bolls per plant.
