[Study of meristem regenerative ability of red currant cultivars]

Terminal and axillary buds of one-year-old woody shoots of the cultivars "Fertedi", "Jonher Van Test", "Krynichka" and "Nenagliadnaya" were used to obtain a shoot culture of red current. There was tested 0.1% mercuric chloride solution as a sterilizing agent in exposures of 1,3,5,7 minutes in combination with a treatment of 70% ethanol and 0.2% benlate solutions. Explants were cultivated on two modifications of MS nutritious media (Anderon and Lee-Fossard). The increase of mercuric chloride exposure decreases the number of infected explant and increases the number of viable ones. At the stage of in vitro culture initiation the dependence of meristem regenerative ability on nutrient medium mineral composition and cultivar was revealed
