Diazotrophic bacteria strain A. brasilense B-4485 was found to be an effective inoculant for different kinds of perennial grasses growing in Belarus. Bacterization of grasses results in the yield increase and in the improvement of forage quality. Under equal ecological conditions the inoculation effect value depends on the genotype peculiarities of grasses, which determine the function and activity of N2-fixing associations as well as the influence on grass yield and protein content in dry matter. Top average yield, response to inoculation and protein content in production were obtained for brome and cocksfoot, the following grasses in diminishing sequence: timothy and fescue
