In Serbia and Montenegro sheep production is not one of the main branch of livestock. That is reason for extensive or semi intensive way of sheep breeding. The number of sheep has declined in our country during the last few decades. In 2000, in Serbia and Montenegro the number of sheep was 1.917.000, and in 2002, as FAO data says, it was 1.691.000 of sheep. The fact which is encouraging for this production is that the number of sheep of high-quality breed has increased, the flocks have became bigger, and sheep is breeding on more intensive way. The prices of products from sheep milk, and demand for this products in the world market could be good motive for increase of sheep production on the base of intensive way of breeding and disposal of final products - sheep milk cheese.
