Influence of planting density on growth, yield and fruits quality of apple cultivars

In the cause of defining the most suitable planting distance for apple cultivars: Idared, Red Chief, Hapke Delicious, Jonagored, Golden Delicious clone B, Golden Delicious clone Reinders and Granny Smith we set a trial in which each of mentioned cultivars has been represented with three different planting densities (3.80 x 0.753.80 x 1.003.80 x 1.25 m) or (3.80 x 1.003.80 x 1.253.80 x 1.50 m) depending on tested cultivar and rootstock. The objective of investigations were tree growth characteristics, fruits morphological characteristics, marking of fruits outer characteristics, yields, dry matter content and total acid content. Results show that investigated cultivars have different reaction on used planting densities, that all investigated cultivars are suitable for high density planting and that for each of those we can recommeded one of three tested planting densities.
