Evaluation of economic justification of energetic usage of biomass

The aim of the research is evaluation of economic justification of energetic usage of biomass, respectively finding the method, which may help the potential investors to have clear insight concerning economic justification of energetic exploitation of biomass. As the basic potential resource of bimass are used harvest leftover of farming production, respectively cereal straw. The main point is not to find out exact limits of economic profitability of energetic exploitation of biomass, respectively cereal straw, but to find general, applicable method for establishing of economic justification of energetic usage of the harvest leftovers in farming. Mentioned method should represent quantitative base for making managing decisions in the field of economic organizations as well as state institutions. Costs of energy produced from the cereal straw are compared to the costs of energy produced from hard coal. While calculating the costs are considered all differences arising from the specific burning technologies of analyzed energents. In this thesis is also made evaluation of the economic effectiveness of baled straw briquetting and on that occasion comparison between selling price of briquettes and selling price od firewood was made. By comparison the costs of energy production from baled straw with the costs of energy production from the hard coal it was found that the energy produced from the straw at one own estate is 22% cheaper than the energy produced from hard coal, in case that small square bales are used, respectively 34% in case that rolled bales are used. According to that, the main course in energetic usage of biomass should be making of the conditions under which the farms will widely use their own by-products for energy production, respectively to stimulate organizing of more energetic independent farms. In this case, transport costs of biomass residue are relatively low which represent significant conditions of the economy of the whole process.
