Effect of reduce tillage on wheat production in semi-arid conditions

Tillage system affects productive characteristics of wheat. Sowing by application of aggregate at 5 to 10 cm, it was achieved optimal sowing depth of 4.29 cm. Tillage by disc harrow contributed to the highest number of emerged plants and spikes per area unit. Aggregate application in wheat tillage and sowing at the depth of 10-15 cm contributed to achieving the highest yield of wheat amounting 7720 kg/ha, which is for 500 kg/ha greater than yield obtained at conventional tillage. Aggregate application also showed better soil moisture conservation than conventional tillage.
