Effect of irrigation on contents of total water and macronutrients in apple leaves

Results of a trial relating to effect of irrigation on total water and macronutrients contents in apple leaves are presented. The results indicate a dependence between the amount of water for irrigation, total water content and macronutrient content in apple leaves. The average increase in total water content in leaves, compared to control was 3.9-2.6%, that of nitrogen 0.21-0.12%, phosphorus 0.06-0.03% and potassium 0.29-0.19%. A positive correlation was found between the contents of water and macronutrients in apple leaves. The most favourable effects were achieved in the second variant of irrigation with a 75% field water capacity (FWC).
