To meet the growing demand for protein worldwide, it is essential to improve the efficiency of conversion of proteins from feed to meat. Alfalfa is a most widely grown forage legume in the world with more than 32 millions hectares and also the biggest source of proteins per hectare and rich source of other useful components for poultry feeding. Alfalfa total usability value may be upgraded by selective fractionation of highly valuated components. The review of literature data as well as the results of our investigation on production technology, chemical composition and nutritive value of alfalfa concentrates as the natural color and a source of proteins in broiler feeding are shown in this paper.
