Research of dried fruit consumption in our country [Serbia and Montenegro]

In spite of undeniable nutritive value, dried fruits is poorly represented in consumers diet in our country. Main task of the research is to define why the dried fruit consumption is poorly represented, as for what are the factors of such consumption. There are two basic factor groups that determinate the consumption: economic (especially, income, consume purchasing power and retail price) and noneconomic factors (especially, level of information, custom and market investiture). The intention is to examine the influence of suggested factors on dried fruit consumption. Also, the analysis is focused on question of weather is market investiture (market supply) basic factors that limit increase of dried fruit consumption in our country. The analysis is based on survey data collected on sample of 98 examinees in the area of Novi Sad. Although, small scale sample has issue on representativeness, collected data refer to basic factors of dried fruit consumption.
