Multifunctional agriculture and vitality of rural areas

The present orientation to high productive agriculture will give the place to multifunctional agriculture and plurality of its development goals. Agriculture has a function of production as well as a function of providing vitality and competitiveness rural areas. Growth of ecological acceptable agriculture must be balanced with sustainability of rural development. Complementarity in realizing the goals of agriculture and rural development is necessary in Serbia. Multifunctional agriculture must show its advantages only to mitigate antagonisms between the actions directed to increasing competitiveness of agriculture and quality of environment. Stimulative measures regarding to increase multifunctionality agriculture should be connected to family farms.
